Overview

In this section, you can find a more detailed overview of the Team Roles feature.

It is important that you start from the general introduction given in the Data Teams section to understand the general concepts. Please refer to the Team Roles overview for Data Teams and the explanation section.

This section is intended for technical users (e.g. platform teams, system administrators) who want to understand how Team Roles works under the hood and how to configure it in their Witboost instance to give users the possibility to delegate their projects responsibilities on their own, without asking to the platform team.

What is Team Roles

Team Roles is a feature of the Control Plane module that allows Data Teams to assign accountability roles to users within a project (Data Product, Data Layer, etc.). It is a layer on top of RBAC that gives business semantics to technical permissions.

  • To know how Team Roles works and security implications, please refer to the explanation.
  • To configure Team Roles in your Witboost instance, please refer to the configuration tutorial.
  • If you already have some familiarity with Team Roles and you would like to enable delegation for a Team Role, please refer to the how-to enable delegation section.
